About us
Wiñak began its activities in 1996 in the Archidona canton, Napo province, made up of Kichwa farming families who saw an opportunity to value local products. In 2002 they established that fine aroma national cocoa is one of the main chakra products, which had a niche market.

With the progressive increase in cocoa production, they saw the need to associate and establish a union that represents them, this is how the Wiñak Agro-Artisanal Association was born on July 29, 2010.

Wiñak is an autonomous and community organization under private law, non-profit, whose purpose is to improve the living conditions of its associates, especially women and young people, managing to merge producers, society and nature.

Wiñak, which translated into Spanish means "Development and Progress", reflects the feelings of small Kichwa farmers surrounded by the Sumaco, Napo Galera and Colonso Chalupas Biosphere Reserves.

Wiñak strengthens its production, organization and marketing system, through training processes, technical and financial assistance, to find special markets where our products, conditions and local production system are considered and valued, thus managing to reduce intermediation and at the same time protect natural resources.
